Background

Hyclo Skin is a revolutionary skincare brand, harnessing the power of HOCI (hypochlorous acid) to help treat skin conditions and sooth irritation. With its breakthrough technology, Hyclo was ready to take on the highly competitive and crowded beauty sector.

Beth was initially working on another of founder Nicole Fletcher's brands when she was approached with a challenge: could her proven retail strategy translate into the beauty and skincare space?

Despite having no prior experience in the beauty sector, Beth took on the opportunity with determination, recognising the potential of Hyclo Skin's product range.

The Challenge

  • Break through the highly saturated and competitive beauty market

  • A new entrant needing visibility and buyer confidence

  • No established retail presence in the beauty category

Plan of Action

Utilise Beth's existing retail network to reach key stakeholders and adapt proven strategies to suit the beauty industry, by focusing on Hyclo Skin's innovation and product efficacy.

Results

Beth leveraged her existing retail and childrenswear contacts to reach key beauty stakeholders, and adapted her proven strategies to the nuances and specific dynamics of the beauty industry. By focusing on Hyclo Skin's innovative formula and product efficacy, within 6 months, she secured meetings with major beauty retailers:

  • Nordstrom

  • Boots

  • Holland & Barrett

  • Superdrug

  • Wells Pharmacy

  • Tesco

  • John Lewis

In addition, positive feedback has been received by big hitters within the beauty sector, indicating positive interaction and the potential for future opportunities:

  • Harvey Nichols

  • Fenwick

  • Selfridges

  • QVC

  • Space NK

  • Waitrose

  • The Very Group

  • Victoria Health

  • Morrisons

Next Steps

While many retailers praised the product, highlighting its innovation and performance in particular, several emphasised the need for increased brand visibility and a more robust marketing presence before taking on a full retail launch.

Taking the advice of key beauty retailers onboard, Beth is working closely with the Hyclo Skin team to refine its marketing and brand awareness strategy, in the hopes of setting the brand up for long-term success in the beauty space and securing meaningful and fruitful retail partnerships in the near future.

I really recommend Beth, if you are retail-ready, she should be your first call... and even if you are not, call her anyway as she will help you get there.
